I was born in Veracruz, México, but I’ve now been in the US for half of my life.

I started my career working for directors like Martin Scorsese, Doug Liman, and Baz Luhrmann in technical positions as a DIT and Stereographer. I was always shocked to see how humble and focused they were, and the importance they put on clear and honest communication with their collaborators. This is something that I apply to my work to this day.

When shooting, I’m always an ally who remains focused and positive, no matter how stressful the circumstances. I believe people work best when there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and I nurture this by bringing on like-minded crew members.

I believe that the bigger differences on set are always made by the intangible choices— rather than focusing mostly on the equipment, I’m always much more excited about building the story, character, and lighting the environment.
